Upon successful completion of both the classroom and in-car training portions of your driver education course, you will receive credit electronically. Your completion will be posted directly onto your MVA driving record. There are no paper certificates.
When you go to the MVA for your driving test, the MVA will simply access your file which will reflect successful completion of the driver education program. You may request a letter confirming completion for insurance purposes or for out-of-state licensing. A fee of $10 will apply; an email confirmation is free.
How Do I Request A Letter of Completion?
To request a letter confirming completion, you must make your request by mail or phone. There is a $10 fee for this service. Requests must include your full name, date of birth, driver license (soundex) number, the month and year you attended our driver education program as well as the location of your classroom instruction. Additionally, you may simply phone us and pay by credit card. Please allow 10 business days for processing. Your patience is appreciated.
What If You No Longer Have Record Of My Completion?
Allegany Driving School maintains all student records for exactly three years as required by the MVA. If you completed driver education more than 3 years ago, you will need to make your request through the Maryland MVA.
